FLASHBACK FRIDAY

This is a picture of my Mom when she was a teenager. Isn't she pretty? It probably dates from the  mid to late forties.

As I collect vintage items, I've found things that are similar to items in this photo. The pictures above the sofa are similar to ones that I often see. Have YOU seen these before?

Also the little lady figurine on the second shelf of the end table is similar to one I found  ( pictured here ) and kept for myself.  They are usually, like mine, planters. I really DO need to get a plant in there! My little lady is holding her hat instead of wearing it. I have her in my "green and pink" room which my granddaughters have adopted as theirs. It's really a "girly-girl" room so they love it!

I also recognize the end table and even the lamp as items that you often find at estate and vintage sales. If you're a "picker" of vintage items I'm sure you recognize them as well.

When people come to our sales, one of the things that many get excited about is finding things from their childhood! What would YOU like to find again from YOUR childhood?

I'm joining the party, FLASHBACK FRIDAY, at Seaside Simplicity. Won't you join us also?

  1. Great photo of your mother Sandy! I'm a vintage treasure hunter too and so many times I will grab something just because it reminds me of my childhood - those are my favorite finds. I had to go on the wagon with thrift shops and yard sales until I can find time to start sorting and selling some stuff otherwise my home will look like an episode of hoarders pretty soon! Thanks for playing along on Flashback Friday :)

  3. A lovely picture, what a sweet girl with a nice smile. What l would like to find from my childhood: Homemade woven floor mats, often made from worn out linen, clothes etc. no fabric went to waste. We had mats like that on the farm where l grew up, l would be so excited to find more of them (my mother in law gave me two.) they make me think of childhood, Pam :-)

  5. What a lovely photo of your Mother and how fun to find things similar to what she had. I have an old photo of myself holding a doll and I would love to find that doll. I don't really know what the doll is so I just try to compare. Happy weekend!
