BUSY SUMMER

Home: The spot of earth supremely blest, A dearer, sweeter spot than all the rest.  Robert Montgomery

Hi Friends!

Life has been busy here , but busy-good! I keep working at staying in the moment but in all the good busy-ness, I sometimes find myself thinking of the next thing I have to do instead of just enjoying the present lovely moment. I'm getting better at this though by being intentional at "living in the moment". Anyone else have to work at that?

This month we had Gramma Camp where our two youngest grandkids, Charlie and Gili,  came to stay with us for 4 days and 4 nights. We had activities planned with Grandpa being my assistant. This year we went rope climbing, bowling, to a reptile zoo where we got to feed the animals, used a metal detector to find treasures that had been "lost by someone on the grounds of our home", went to Great Wolf Lodge where we stayed overnight and went to all the Water Park Activities, and played a game of " Human" Hungry, Hungry, Hippos! Look up this game on Pinterest! It's a blast! Of course there were also lots of fun surprises and treats in between the main activities for the day! We had a great time but by the end of the week Grandma and Grandpa were exhausted!!

The only activity we didn't actually participate in was the rock climbing. We just took pictures! But it looked like fun and the next time I think I'll give it a go!

We've also been spending a lot of fun family time on our pontoon in Lake City, Mn. It is so beautiful and relaxing no one wants to leave when it's time to head home. You actually feel like you are on vacation and miles away from home when you're in this lovely setting! Best money ever spent!

The Plummer House has also kept us busy. We have people asking us all the time what it's like living in the Plummer House, a 49 room historic mansion. I'll be writing a whole post on this topic very soon. Watch for it!

Here's a Sneak Peek: Our Home...The top windows in the foreground are our living room. The bottom windows in the foreground are garage and laundry room. The other four windows on the top are "little TV room", hallway, office, and hallway. Below that with the arches is a covered walkway. This is the back of the house.

Les and I also had a little get-away this summer. Nothing big, just a couple of overnights using gift cards we've had for too long and decided it would be a good time to use them. We went to the St James Hotel in Red Wing, Mn. This is a lovely old Inn with decor to match.

I'll leave the rest of our summer adventures for another post. Well, not ALL of them! There's too much to tell about!

Also watch for my posts about Simple Living! That's something I've been working on for some time now! But I'm trying to do it in a "simple way"...slowly, one step at a time! It's challenging when there are so many things you love to do and there's no time to do them all! But it's possible!
