Fall and Curating New Decor

I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.   L. M. Montgomery

Our Fall here in Minnesota in October is giving us beautiful weather. A time for blowing ( or raking ) leaves, putting them in bags,  and then sitting out and enjoying the warm sun and the lovely colors of Fall.

Les keeps asking why we aren't paying someone to do this. He has never liked yard work. But it is healthy for us to be out in the fresh air and being active. We only fill two bags a day with leaves ( sometimes more ) and they are blown into piles with a leaf blower. That's really not a lot of work.

Since moving into our new home after leaving the mansion, I have been slowly decorating the "public" rooms first. There is still more I want to do but I look for vintage or antique items to decorate with so it takes time. But part of the fun is the hunt so I'm patient.

One of the items I’ve been finding in my hunt for decor is Vintage Brass Wall Candle Sconces. I found a cute pair of pineapple sconces  (above ) but they turned out to be too small for the intended area. So I’ve put them on Marketplace for sale. Aren’t they sweet?

Sconces can create a warm and welcoming room with the warmth of candles while reflecting against the brass. They come in all shapes and sizes to complement any decor. I love the music related sconces as well as the elegant three candle sconces seen below.
In my search I also found more sconces:

These are for sale at gwenandalmas.etsy.com

I just started a new Facebook page for Gwen And Alma’s. I would love it if you’d follow me there and also here on my blog!
