TEACUP TUESDAY

You can't have a cup of tea big enough or a book long enough to suit me.  C. S. Lewis

This is my first time joining Teacup Tuesday at Martha's Favorites so I wanted to share my very first teacups.

In the generation in which we got married, everyone picked out one set of every day dishes and one set of good china for special occasions.  My grandparents gave me my first  six place settings of  good china including a few serving pieces. I still am in love with this pattern.  It's English Wedgewood in the Florentine pattern. Even though I have changed our decor several times over the years I have always made sure it went with my navy, brown, light blue, and white china. Even our  Christmas dinner tablescapes are either mostly white or blue and white with silver thrown in.

Here's my special teacup with Fall decor in the back in brown and white and navy tablecloth.

A closer view of the pattern.

Shown with blue hydrangeas to bring out the lighter blue with vintage brown cheese box in background.

Above is a Fall centerpiece made with white pumpkins and pinecones in a vintage cheese box. Maybe I'll use blue, brown, and white for my Thanksgiving table this year. Not your typical Thanksgiving colors but then again that's kind of typical of me.

Be sure and hop on over to Martha's Favorites to see more teacups.

Today I'm thankful for my grandparents and the Christian values they passed on.

TRAVEL IN CHINA

My daughter sent some pictures she took of travel in China where she and her husband are now living. Thought I'd share them here. Wish I had such good balancing skills!
