My husband and I live in this 49 room mansion and act as Resident Directors. There are 11 acres of gardens and woods surrounding the house. The house is owned by the city of Rochester and managed by the Park and Recreation Department of the city. The house can be rented out for events such as weddings, parties, and meetings etc. The house is open for tours during the summer months of June, July, and August. In addition, private group tours can be arranged at any time.
Taking 7 years to build, construction of the house began in 1917 and was completed in 1924. It was the original home of Dr Henry Plummer , an associate of the Mayo brothers. Dr. Plummer was a genius and inventor as well as a doctor and many inventions in the house are well ahead of their time.
My husband and I oversee events at the house while living in the West wing of the house in what once was servants quarters as well as Dr Plummer's workshop.
I will be sharing more about Dr. Plummer, the house itself, and the adventures we have here in blog
posts. We have lived here 23 years and have had many interesting experiences. You will find posts about the house
