This old berry carrier was from Bud's Berry Picking business in Red Wing. I'll probably use it for magazines. My Dad's name was Bud so I thought this was pretty cute.
And to add to my blue and white stoneware/ironstone collection...
I always pick up more linen. Here's 6 placemats and matching napkins and a pretty little vintage hooked rug.
A darling old box...
An old bell...
And a new little cap for baby. I change her hat seasonally but when I get enough I'll change them monthly.
Here are some things I purchased on our little getaway to the Mississippi River towns...
Loved this chair with it's old patina. Only paid $20.
I've seen these vintage laundry tins in magazines but had not run across them until now.
And this book called, "Coffee Made Her Insane, and Other Nuggets From Old Minnesota Newspapers", showing newspaper articles dating from the 1800s to the early 1900s. OK, couldn't get this to turn the right way. I'll share a bit of this in the future. Very interesting the kinds of things that were in old newspapers!
Well, that's probably enough damage to the budget for the month. But, hey, I made some money at our Labor Day sale!
It's going to be in the upper 90's for weather today with high humidity making it feel like in the 100's. Just going to try and stay cool today!
I am wondering if that is a winter scene chair pad? You did get some great items!
ReplyDeleteYes, it is a winter scene but not a chair pad. It's actually quite small. For a table I'd say.
DeleteThe "Buds" carrier is a real find!
ReplyDeleteYeah, that's my favorite!
DeleteWhat fun finds! I'm loving all of your pretty blues! Blue is my favorite color right now! Enjoy your week! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteBlue has always been my favorite color. It makes me smile.
DeleteGreat finds! I love the one that says 'Bud's' on it. Always special when you find something with a name on it! I bought a fairly big stained glass window, with a peacock design and the lettering, 'Casa de Joanna'. The price had dropped over the years from $800 to $150, and that's when I got it.
ReplyDeleteIt IS fun to have a special name on something you've found. How fun that you found a window with your name on it. I would have snapped it up too.
DeleteYou come across such cool things. I love the pitcher and that old bell, the chair is very cool too. I hope my sis and I have such luck on our hunts. We passed a couple of antique stores and flea markets on our outing this past weekend. Can't wait to get into "Grandma's Drawers" and see what's hiding there! :)
ReplyDeleteGood good luck with your hunt!
DeleteThat old newspaper - how mystical! And the chair...my goodness, you scored big! Awesome finds.
ReplyDeleteXOXO,
Meredith
There are some funny articles in that book.
