CARPE DIEM

It's time to carpe the heck out of that diem.

                                                      Sieze The Day!

Carpe Diem is kind of like the current version to "Live in the Moment". Well, sort of!

My nine-year-old Grandson, Charlie, was enjoying the moment several years back  during recess at school. With Spring being just around the corner, the weather was getting warmer. When you live in Minnesota, when the weather gets above 35 degrees it feels like a "heat wave". Well, maybe that's a LITTLE exaggerated! But compared to temperatures below zero, it FEELS that way. Anyway, so we had one of those "heat waves" ( temp 35 degrees ) where we Minnesotans go outside with no jacket, sometimes in shorts, and enjoy the "warmth" of a 35 degree day!

Charlie in the Summer Several Years Ago
,

Charlie decided it was just the right weather to play outside for recess with just his short sleeve T-shirt and jeans. There is still snow on the ground, though puddles are beginning to appear as the snow melts. So Charlie decided to "Sieze The Day" and really enjoy the moment of warmth while there was still snow on the ground. He decided to make a snow angel in the snow! He laid down in the snow ( in just his T-shirt and jeans) and began moving his arms and legs to form the snow angel. Ta Daaaa! Nailed it!  Beautiful Snow Angel! Wish I had a picture of that.

Kids know how to Seize The Day! And they always are living in the moment! While I'm not suggesting we go out and make snow angels in the snow with no jacket on, I WOULD suggest that
we learn to live more in the moment and so enjoy each moment of our days!

Right now are are enjoying  the big mansion we live in!

We have lived here now for 35 years and are still in awe of this place and just the fact that we live here! We are surrounded by 11 acres with woods around us, yet in the middle of the City. We have deer, fox, turkeys, and more coming out of the woods to check things out. And one time an opossum snuck in while an event was going on and managed to get up to the second floor without being noticed and hid under a radiator. With just its tail sticking out we weren't sure what kind of animal it was and called the DNR to come and retrieve it! And I don't think we could have had the antique business we've had if we hadn't lived here. There is lots of room to store our antique treasures that we sell.

Anyhoo, friends, remember to Seize The Day and Live In The Moment!

Sandy
