A NEW GIVE-AWAY WINNER PICKED AND VALENTINE IDEAS

Laurie, of the  blog, INDULGE YOUR SHELF won my blog Give-Away but she has generously asked me to pick another winner because she had won 4 GIVE-AWAYS and she didn't want to "feel greedy". I told her she wouldn't be greedy, just lucky! Nevertheless I'm respecting her wishes and I'm picking another winner.  Actually, I'm kind of jealous because I've never won ONE  Give-Away and I've entered my share of them!  Maybe someday....

But because of Laurie's generosity I've picked another Give-Away winner via RANDOM.ORG. And the winner is.....

Piroska from the blog PIPPI STITCHES.

Congratulations! Now Piroska will be receiving the prize pictured here along with a surprise vintage item.

We're getting ready for Valentine's Day here though I don't put out a lot of Valentine "decorations". We just make things to give to people on that special day.  My daughter and granddaughter and I made these candy suckers for starters:

Then I took pictures of my grandson and granddaughter which  I will turn into Valentines like these I found on PINTEREST:

I'll share mine here when they're finished.

I'd also like  to make some cute fabric hearts like these:

                                                                             Or these:

But Valentine's Day is FAST approaching so I don't think THAT'S going to happen.  And yet, we WILL make the day special with simple handmade or home baked treats along with Valentine cards to give to loved ones , and a lovely dinner out for my husband and I.

What are YOU going to do to make the day special? I'd love some more creative ideas. You can go to my PINTEREST board for some inspiration as well. How neat is it to have the inspiration of PINTEREST handy? Love it!

  3. Those cards are so COOL!!!! I don't celebrate V-day but I've put together a little goody bag for my stepdaughter, and i've decided to make cupcakes for Mardi Gras and Valentines Day. With coloured batter & icing of course. :)

  4. Definitely so nice of Laurie to share her good fortune. Love all your Valentines Day ideas. I had thought about doing a Valentine's Day vintage swap this year, but time just got away from me. Love the heart shaped suckers you and your daughter and granddaughter made - they are beautiful! :)

  5. Oh, I LOVE those fabric hearts! I was just looking at some old quilts stashed in my supplies in my studio... thinking that maybe I should cut some of it up for making some sweet hearts. But your photos show some wonderful ones, too, and being the saver that I am I just might take that route. No plans for Valentine's day as darling husband will be moving his mother into an assisted living facility. That is far more important this year. Have fun with those grandkids!!
