MY CORNER CHAIR

I found this little corner chair at a thrift shop for $4! I was actually shopping for my Hob Nobbers vintage sale but this was a keeper! Well, until it's not! Sometimes I DO decide to sell things after I've kept them for myself  awhile.

Later as I was trying to be more intentional about my decor ( I'm trying to be intentional in ALL areas of my life ), I decided to have it recovered. I liked the blue color but not the yellow swirls. Yellow was not in my new color scheme. So I decided on an off- white color that will fit in with the white/off-white and blue tones I'm going for. I was going to try to recover this myself but clearly, I'm not an upholsterer, though I'm hoping to give it a try at some point. I wanted this to look good so I decided to have it done by someone who knew what they were actually doing. Here is what it looks like now. You can't see the pattern on this, sorry:

And here it is with a favorite little pillow of mine. The cup and square center is done in needlepoint and I love the navy and white checks.

I'm considering recovering a couple of upholstered chairs sitting next to this little chair in a large buffalo check pattern in either navy and white ( similar to the pillow ) or in a light blue and white.

I'll share pictures of them when they are done. But don't hold your breath! I'm having a hard time trying to justify recovering them as they are not that old and are still in perfect condition. There is also blue in them so they are not totally out of place in my new color scheme. I only want to change them to fit in perfectly with my new "intentional decor". I'm also not one to spend money frivolously. Still, if I can find some unexpected money somewhere ( like in the chair cushions...haha...I used to do that as a kid ) I'm going to go for it! It would be nice if someone out there would comment and tell me it's OK to recover them without feeling guilty! LOL

  1. I've never seen a chair like that - is it comfortable to sit on? I like the new fabric a lot.

I can't help you with that reupholster dilemma, but if someone were to drop a cup of hot chocolate on it, then you'd probably have to reupholster it. Just saying..... :-)
