Walking Grandson

My husband and I care for our 1 year old grandson four afternoons a week. He started walking a while ago but he thinks he can't walk unless he is holding onto our hands even though he is really walking on his own.When we try to let go, he just sits down. Our daughter-in-law gave him a metal tape measure to hold and he started to walk with it as she reeled him in. As soon as he let go of the tape, he fell down. He apparently thinks that whatever is in his hand is what is allowing him to walk, not his legs. Enjoy the video.
