This is my Dad in his new car some time in the 1940's before he and my Mom got married. He was very proud of this car. It's kind of hard to see but he has a BIG SMILE on his face! Look at all the old cars in the background also.

ReplyDeleteWow Sandy, that's a great picture. Back then people took such pride in getting a car and they usually had it for years and years. Those were such simpler times.
Thanks for coming by

ReplyDeleteKind of hard to see??? Not at all!!! You can see those pearly whites shining bright! Nice car....I can understand being so happy!!!
ReplyDeleteOh you've just got to LOVE these old photos with those super cool cars! And this is one of the best! Look at the shine on that beauty and your Dad looks so happy and proud of his baby. This is when cars were cars and men were men HAHAHAH I just made that up :)))
ReplyDeleteI have a lot of photos of my Dad with the old cars too and I just need to find my cord for the scanner lol
Love that era.. And check out how his car shines compared to the rest on the road. He must've been very proud. :)
ReplyDeleteThat's when cars were built like tanks and didn't crumble like the "plastic" ones of today! What make is it, do you know? And wow, look at those white walls! Thanks for sharing, Sandy!
ReplyDeleteThat's great, love it! Of course that big smile is beaming... how could you miss it =]
ReplyDeleteI love old cars and that one's a beauty!
ReplyDeleteI clicked on the car and enlarged it - you can really see his happy smile! And his car has an outside visor or awning over the front window. I've never seen that before!
ReplyDeleteIf I had that car today, I would have the same smile....wonderful and so great you have the picture of it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a PRICELESS photo!!!! I love that grin from ear to ear--I reall enjoy vintage pics and cars are great in vintage. Look at those wide white side wall tires--their gleaming!!

So cool Sandy and he sure looks happy to be in that car. My dad had a similar car but the only photos I've found of it were after he rolled it! Thanks for sharing this one at Flashback Friday :)
