DO YOU NEED PICKERS ANONYMOUS? HELP IS HERE!

Remember that the most valuable antiques are dear old friends.  H Jackson Brown Jr

I've been so busy lately that I haven't been able to get to many Estate Sales or garage sales. How am I going to get my fix  treasures if I can't get out there and shop?! It's making me a bit nervous! Actually I'm really on edge! I mean, how am I going to have all the great stuff for you at our next sale if I can't get out there and find it!! Ackkk!!!

OK!  I'm going to just say it... I kind of  think I'm going into withdrawal! It is an addiction, you know! Oh it started out  innocently enough! It was just a fun hobby. At least that's what I told myself! Going to an occasional garage sale and finding one sweet treasure to rescue!  But then it was two garage sales and then three and then Estate Sales and Auctions, even the Salvation Army! I looked forward to the weekend just so I could go to all of them!  No more could I stop at one! We ended up having to buy a van in order to fit in all the stuff I bought! Then I bought a GPS so I could find all the sales without any trouble! I was spending more and more money on my addiction!

But then I got some help. And now I'm ready to share with you the help that I received. Look at the symptoms below and see if you can relate to any of them.

6 SYMPTOMS OF A PICKING ADDICTION...

1) Your family starts being concerned when you begin following every garage sale sign you see.

 2) You can't go anywhere in the car without stopping at every sale!

3) Following garage sale signs on Monday until realizing much later that it's a sign left over from the weekend! No one has garage sales on Monday but you are desperate!

4) You like to spend time with other "pickers" because they "get it"!

5) Many times you go alone to garage sales.

6) You can't wait until the weekends to get your "fix" of sales.

Just having one of these symptoms means you are addicted. It's time to get some help. For me, it took a while but I finally worked through my denial and accepted that I was addicted. Now I'm starting a "Pickers Anonymous".  Anyone want to join me?

Oh, wait! I just spotted something on Craigslist! Never mind! I'll quit tomorrow!

  1. I always loved going to garage sales but there are so many good thrift stores here that it's easier to go to them now. If you came down....we would hit them ALL! heehee! Happy weekend my friend. Hugs, Diane
