SUMMER!

I've been "busy" this summer just fitting in rest and relaxation and family fun! Hah! That is what our summer has been so far! Yeah, retirement is great! We even eat in front of the TV, much to the annoyance of our kids! We never allowed that when they were growing up! But hey, we can now do whatever we want! Right? We're retired!

My husband, Les, received a cocoon-like hammock for Father's Day. Now we take turns resting and relaxing in there. Or sometimes get in together...one at each end!

It's nice just to lay there and look up at the trees and sky....

And we also spend time on our pontoon, sometimes cruising alone and enjoying the scenery...

And sometimes having a BLAST with the kids and grandkids...

We attend local parades with the family...

And have sleep-overs with our granddaughter who now likes to POSE for photos...

With all the summer relaxation and fun, I've had a hard time fitting in shopping for our upcoming sale over Labor Day weekend! YIKES!

And YET in just one trip I managed  to get some VERY FUN FINDS. I took a road trip with friends to an Estate Sale in a neighboring state. We had a great time and filled the back of the van with treasures! While waiting for the sale to begin, a kind gentleman dressed in bib-overalls and plaid shirt told us all about the history of the family holding the sale. This was a husband and wife, long time residents of this little town. They were now both deceased and had been long time antique collectors. The husband had two brothers who never married but farmed and "back in the day" apparently acted unofficially as the "local bank". Residents would go to them for a loan and they would give it to them with nothing more than a handshake. They always got their money back with interest and became quite wealthy. He had a lot of interesting stories of local folk!...And he was also kind enough to take our photo!

So that has been my summer so far...rest, relaxation, boating, grandkids, and Road Trips for treasures. Next up is a little Get-Away for us, Gramma Camp, and LOTS OF SHOPPING for the sale!

And I've kind of been dreaming about getting one of those little vintage trailers to decorate. You know, GLAMPING! We'll see if Les goes for it. His idea of "camping" is more like a Hampton Inn! If you have one of those little things, I'd love to hear about it! Pros, Cons, etc.

Check out our Etsy shop, Gwen And Alma's! I've listed lots more treasures! And be sure to "Favorite" our shop in order to receive updates! I'll be having a Give-Away soon with a Gift Certificate for our shop! You can buy from there and you don't even have to wait for our Hob Nobber sale! But you'll still want to come to our FUN LABOR DAY event for sure!

That's it for now! Be sure and get in lots of family fun and relaxation this summer! We still have 1/3 of the way to go!
