Special "Find"
Yesterday I showed you some photos that I said were my last purchases before leaving for sunny Florida. I really had not planned on hob nobbing for more treasures but when driving by one of my "thrifty haunts" MY CAR drove right in there! I couldn't BELIEVE it! Does that happen with anyone else's car? Anyway I ran into Karen, one of my Hob Nobber partners. We like to get each other's opinion about purchases so we searched around together.
But the MAIN reason I'm sharing this today is to show you what I found! .... This beautiful 22"x22" framed TAPESTRY! The photo doesn't do it justice and I couldn't figure out how to get a photo ( might need a new camera ) without the glare ( under the glare is a little hut ) but it is gorgeous! It is so serene with soft muted colors. I think this one might be a keeper for me and not for sale. But you never know....

Last Minute Purchases Before Vacation
Spring is here and we'll be heading with family to Florida for spring break but I'll still be posting as we'll be taking our new Mac laptop along. Maybe I'll even find some cute things along the way to pick up. So I guess you'll be going on vacation with us. Stay in touch as I'll try to post three times a week. And, no, I'm not a work-aholic. This is FUN for me!!!!!
OH! And one more thing. Cathy at Treasured Heirlooms is having a give-away. Cathy's picture is on the right here. Click on her Treasured Heirlooms button ( below to the right ) to take you to her site where you can sign up. She has been featured in many magazines and has many lovely things for sale at her on-line store. Check it out!
Have a great week!

Playdates and Treasures
Our friends, Max and Patty, have a granddaughter about the same age as our grandson, Charlie, and the other day Patty called to invite us on a Playdate. So Grampa Les and I took Charlie to the park to meet them for his first Playdate with Miriam. It was very difficult getting them both to sit still at the same time for pictures. Charlie was a little shy at first but then warmed up to Miriam and they had a great time as did the Grandparents. It was a beautiful sunny day! Aren't they adorable? What fun!
I also found time to go" treasure hunting" in the afternoon while Charlie and Grampa were napping. I picked up this pretty blue dish ( not old ) for myself as my China is blue and white and I like to pick up odd pieces for serving. I paid a whopping 75 cents and when I turned it over it still had a price tag from a local gift/floral shop for $28.99! WooHoo! What a deal!

Vintage Headboard
Yesterday I went shopping for an antique headboard for our guest room, which really is Elissa and Jon's room whenever they are home. We have a full size bed in there with no headboard and I was hoping to find something interesting to use as a headboard. Couldn't find a full one but I did find this vintage twin headboard ( see photos ) which I didn't need but it was such as bargain I scooped it up anyway. It's a pretty creamy yellow and look at the flowered details! I'll probably put it in our next Hob Nobber sale. I thought it would be cute made into a bench but I might just sell it as it is....no work for me then! It's in great condition!
